This morning, Governor Deval Patrick of Massachusetts picked former aid, William “Mo” Cowan, to take John Kerry’s seat on the Senate. Our good friend Barney Frank, a recent retiree from the House of Representatives, was hoping to land this short term gig. Although I could be wrong. You see, Barney Frank said he wanted to be a short term Senator, but did he ever say in what capacity?
See where I’m going here??? No? Oh…
This weekend, February 2nd, Barney Frank will be performing in Encores! production of Fiorello! at City Center in NYC. His walk on role? A Senator. FABULOUS.
A producer friend had asked [Representative Chellie] Pingree to secure Frank for a walk-on part in “Fiorello!”, a musical about former mayor Fiorello LaGuardia of New York.
She asked Frank on the House floor between votes. He accepted; the show, he said, was one of his favorites. “He completely recited the lyrics by heart in the middle of the House.” //Boston Globe
